The Origin is the annual best-of-three series of rugby league football matches between The Blues and The Maroons, who represent the Australian states of New South Wales and Queensland, respectively.

The Blues or "the Cockroaches" as they are nicknamed, hold the record for the largest winning margin, crushing Queensland by 40 points (56-17) in 2000, and currently holds the Origin shield.
